Project Title: Tuition Assistance for Low-income Families
Project Description:

The Omaha Catholic School Consortium was founded in 2012 to provide a life-changing educational experience at our six diverse southeast Omaha schools. The funds requested would be directly applied to our Tuition Assistance Program, helping to allow every child, regardless of their family’s financial situation, to receive an invaluable education while developing community and faith formation. We serve approximately 1,700 children from more than 48 zip codes and numerous ethnicities. The poverty and unemployment rates of our families is 2x higher than peers in Douglas and Sarpy counties, and 47% qualify for free/reduced lunches; however, no family is turned away due to an inability to pay the full cost of education. Funding provided by the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation would change the lives multiple, low-income children in our community, helping them and their families avoid the cycle of generational poverty.
