Project Title: Empowering Flint’s Future Through Financial Literacy & Stem
Project Description:

This project addresses the critical need for financial literacy among underserved youth in Flint, Michigan. In today’s economy, financial knowledge is essential for success. Many young people lack access to quality financial education, leaving them vulnerable to financial pitfalls and limiting their opportunities. This initiative empowers 100+ youth annually with the skills and confidence to navigate their financial futures.  

Our program offers a dynamic, STEM-integrated curriculum, hands-on workshops, and practical application. Interactive workshops cover budgeting, credit management, saving, debt avoidance, and investing. Integrating STEM principles enhances critical thinking and analytical skills, crucial for financial decision-making. Participants create mock budgets, analyze financial scenarios, explore entrepreneurship, and develop personalized financial plans.  

This program breaks cycles of financial hardship by equipping youth with the tools to make informed choices. We aim to:

Empower 100+ Youth: Provide hands-on financial education, building lifelong skills.
Cultivate Financial Confidence: Shift from uncertainty to confidence through practical knowledge.
Promote Economic Independence: Equip participants to avoid pitfalls and prepare for future opportunities.
Build a Financially Resilient Generation: Contribute to long-term economic stability in Flint.
We will measure success through pre- and post-program surveys assessing financial confidence, tracking progress in achieving financial goals, and observing changes in financial behaviors. By investing in this project, you are investing in Flint’s future, empowering the next generation of financially savvy leaders and building a stronger community.

Flint has long faced economic hardship, including high poverty rates and limited financial education access. Our mission is to equip youth with critical financial and life skills to help them build a stable and prosperous future. Through partnerships with schools, community centers, and local organizations, we ensure that young people in Flint and Genesee County receive the tools they need to succeed.
