Lawrence Catholic Academy (LCA), a private Catholic Pre-K through 8th-grade coeducational institution, is dedicated to providing a rigorous, values-driven education to children in one of the region’s most impoverished communities. We respectfully request a $100,000 grant from The Hearst Foundations to support the Hope for Tomorrow Scholarship Fund, which provides essential tuition assistance to at-risk families who seek a safe, high-quality education for their children. Our school serves as a lifeline for students facing economic hardship, offering a nurturing environment that fosters academic excellence, character formation, and leadership development. This grant would directly impact dozens of families who lack the financial means to afford tuition but deeply desire a strong educational foundation for their children.
Statement of Need
At LCA, many families struggle with economic insecurity, and for many children, access to a safe and academically enriching learning environment is limited. Public school options often fail to provide the individualized attention and values-based education that these students need to break the cycle of poverty.
Almost all of our families require financial assistance to afford tuition. Without scholarship support, many of these students would be forced to return to underperforming or unsafe schools, limiting their future prospects. The Hope for Tomorrow Scholarship Fund was established to ensure that no child is turned away due to financial hardship, empowering families to choose an education that prioritizes their child’s well-being, academic success, and moral development.
