Project Title: Housing and Supplies for Legal Refugees
Project Description:

RAISE is a local resettlement agency based out of Joplin, MO. We help legal refugees and immigrants start their new life in America by providing case management, in-house English classes, workforce training, drivers education, housing and housing set up, and much more. The funds from this grant will help secure crucial needs for our housing team such as equipment and storage for the housing essentials for our clients. With RAISE continuing to have increased numbers of clients arriving over the next few months, the housing team is crucial during this time. RAISE is one of the only resettlement agencies in the Midwest that has a house or apartment for clients upon arrival. Other agencies will most likely put their clients up in a hotel/motel until they have an income and can pay for their own housing. RAISE takes pride in our housing model and we hope to continue to lead other agencies in their quest to make housing better for their clients as well. The funding from this grant will continue to support our housing program and the service they provide to our clients. It will allow storage for housing supplies while we wait on arrivals of families, equipment needed to help move clients into their new home, and will help secure any smaller items the family may need when they arrive.
