Project Title: The Edge: Cornerstone to the Community
Project Description:

The Motivational Edge’s Mission is to utilize innovative arts and educational programs to engage, educate, and empower young lives. The Edge’s Cornerstone to the Community program empowers marginalized youth through innovative arts and educational initiatives at our Miami and Vero Beach campuses. Targeting vulnerable populations such as those in the child welfare system, homeless shelters, and juvenile justice systems, the program operates in partnership with Citrus Family Care Network and Communities Connected for Kids. It runs six days a week, extending hours during school breaks, to support over 250 unique students annually.
Our trauma-informed staff offer comprehensive services that include:
Educational Support: Individualized Success Plans (ISPs) are developed for each youth, providing academic support, homework assistance, tutoring, and special education guidance.
Artistic Development: Programs in Creative Writing, Lyrical Expression, Audio Recording & Music Production, Visual & Urban Arts, Dance, Performing Arts, and Digital Design/Technology nurture artistic talents in a culturally relevant and judgment-free space.
Life Skills and Job Readiness: Training in life skills and job readiness prepares youth for success beyond academics, fostering personal and professional growth.
Mentoring: A supportive environment with regular mentoring groups and wellness initiatives promotes belonging and self-worth.
Risk Factor Mitigation: Tailored programming addresses specific risk factors for youth in the child welfare system or those reentering society post-incarceration.
Our staff are highly trained professionals equipped with trauma-informed care techniques, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. They meet all necessary clearances and certifications, ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth served.
Using Salesforce, we monitor and analyze data to track progress, showing 80% attainment of (Individualized Service Plans) ISP goals, a 90% increase in positive peer relationships, and a 90% increase in arts aptitude. This data-driven approach underpins our commitment to providing consistent, effective support uplifting and empowering at-promise youth through a continuum of care.
