Project Title: Crisis nursery
Project Description:

Our organization is dedicated to mitigating childhood trauma, with a core focus on fostering a healthier community. We recognize the cumulative effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that resonate throughout an individual’s life, leading to chronic health conditions, mental health challenges, risky behaviors, and adverse social outcomes. To break this cycle, we are committed to promoting resilience and cultivating positive childhood experiences. Inspired by the Crisis Nursery model, our transformative initiative seeks to intervene early, providing immediate support to families and establishing a foundation for long-term well-being, thus mitigating the lasting effects of childhood trauma on individuals and the broader community.

Our Crisis Nursery Model encompasses key components aimed at achieving our mission:

Immediate Emergency Childcare and Respite Care:
Recognizing the vulnerability of infants and young children, especially in families facing poverty and crises, we provide immediate emergency childcare and respite care for families with children aged newborn-6.

Safe and Non-judgmental Environments:
Our crisis nursery serves as a safe, non-judgmental space that destigmatizes seeking help. We view asking for assistance as a sign of strength, not weakness.

Educational and Trauma-Informed Support:
We offer an educational and trauma-informed environment for children, fostering positive experiences that contribute to resilience. Parents, assured of their children’s safety, can focus on finding resources to promote resilience for the entire family.

Comprehensive Support Beyond Childcare:
Going beyond immediate childcare, our crisis nursery assists families in accessing resources for homelessness, mental health, immigration, and hunger. We provide essential items such as diapers and baby items, alleviating stress and ensuring families always have support in times of need.
