Project Title: Summer Jazz Camp
Project Description:

HEAL Center for the Arts is dedicated to nurturing young artists who can positively shape societal perspectives through meaningful art. With love and dedication, our programs instill discipline and resilience in students, empowering them to transcend negative societal influences. Located in St. Louis, Missouri, our center offers six transformative programs:

Point of View (POV) Jazz Ensemble: Engages audiences with jazz and popular music, teaching performance fundamentals, music theory, and business skills to students ages 12-24.

The Bird Seeds: A feeder junior jazz combo for younger students aged 7-11, preparing them for the POV Jazz Ensemble.

Intellectual Artist Series (Podcast): Encourages cultural and historical exploration through autobiographies and nonfiction, merging arts with emerging technology to promote student-led learning.

North County Big Band: Comprising talented students from St. Louis high schools, this collaborative focuses on music literacy and improvisation in a big band setting.

Summer Point of View Jazz Camp: Offers immersive summer experiences to prepare students for year-round performance, fostering lifelong habits for success.

Through Our Eyes Concert Series: Led by students, this series challenges oppressive systems through music, spreading love and hope to combat violence, trauma, and poverty.

Through these programs, HEAL Center for the Arts is shaping a generation of intellectually and artistically empowered youth, enriching lives and fostering positive societal change. We are specifically seeking support as we prepare to host our 7th Annual Two-Week Summer Jazz Camp which serves approximately 40 local students, ranging from ages 7 to 24. Students will be trained by world renowned artists and educators on the fundamentals of music performance, marketing, and business acumen with a strong emphasis on financial literacy.
