Project Title: Youth Education Programs by Palm Beach Opera
Project Description:
Palm Beach Opera is dedicated to fostering a bright future through its dynamic youth education program. The program, which reaches more than 6,000 children annually, emphasizes the importance of arts education and opera in promoting the well-being of students in the community. It provides a comfortable and educational space for students to experience the social and emotional benefits of opera, allowing them to express themselves creatively. The program has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children by exposing them to the arts.
The Storytime Series is an interactive and free sing-along storytelling adventure that immerses children in the famous tales of opera. The program is available in person and virtually and is suitable for students from Pre-K to 5th grade.
Concerts in the Classroom are free, interactive programs that transform classrooms into a stage, performed by PBO’s Apprentice Artists. This program is suitable for students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Opera! Our Story is an eight-week program offered for free to community partners, such as Milagro Center and The Boys and Girls Club. It guides children in collaborating to create their own opera and is suitable for kindergarten to 12th-grade students.
Opera Rehearsal 101 During the season, middle and high school students and their teachers have the chance to view a working dress rehearsal at the Kravis Center free of charge.
Palm Beach Opera has been committed to presenting live opera at a world-class level since 1961. The company aims to enhance the lives of the communities it serves by offering diverse educational programs and training the next generation of opera stars. As our fiscal year concludes on May 31, 2024, we kindly request grant funding for this year. Thank you very much for your consideration.
