Project Title: Teen Summer Program
Project Description:

Blueprint 58 aims a large percent of its programming toward empowering youth. In order to achieve this we offer multiple youth development programs including one on one mentoring, small groups, sports, and summer programming.

Our summer programming provides youth enrichment activities for teens during the summer. This programming includes a beach retreat, day camp, and overnight hiking trip.

The goals of Blueprint 58’s teen summer programs are to (1) build deeper relationships with volunteers and teens in the neighborhood, (2) provide students with the opportunity to experience new places and activities, (3) offer teens in our other programs and in our neighborhood the opportunity to build community with each other, and (4) foster a safe space for our teens to engage in topics about life and ask questions.

Our goal is to host up to 16 students for all three of our teen summer programs. Ultimately, our hope is to pursue holistic youth development which includes providing teens the space to experience new perspectives and places allowing them to safely explore their sense of who they are in the world.

A grant of $10,000 from The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Foundation would allow us to cover activity costs, lodging, and supplies for our teen summer programming.
