Project Description:

Jenkins Athletic Club (JAC) requests a grant of $10,000 to support the Jenkins’ All-Stars: Academic and Athletic Afterschool Program, aimed at providing disadvantaged students in grades 3-5 with academic support and athletic instruction. Our program is designed to create a positive impact on academic performance, health, and social skills by combining educational tutoring with basketball training.

The key components of the program include:
• Academic Education: Certified teachers will provide targeted learning in essential skills in reading and math.
• Tutoring Services: One-on-one support to address individual student needs.
• Homework Support: Guided assistance to encourage consistent study habits.
• Basketball Education: Coaches teach basketball skills, emphasizing teamwork and discipline.

This integrated approach addresses both mind and body, encouraging a well-rounded education that translates into real-life success.

Project Objectives:

Needs Statement:
Many students in our community lack access to quality after-school programs due to financial constraints. The JAC After School Program aims to bridge this gap, providing both academic and physical education.

Project Timeline:

The program will operate Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., throughout the academic year.
