Project Title: I Am Mentoring
Project Description:

Mentoring program for Black girls called "I Am…" Helping a girl discover her uniqueness may lead to improved school and job performance, build resilience, bring healing and manifest in healthy choices and healthy families. Programs include building self-esteem, leadership skills, BIPOC cultural education, social awareness, positive communication, social media and public places etiquette, the arts, hiplet dance, interpretative dance, music and healthy, creative self expressions. In a safe, nurturing, creative space honoring equity, diversity and inclusion, teens will grow and thrive, learning from understanding guides and mentors.
The Vince Jetter Community Center (VJCC) has a special commitment to inspiring positive neighborhood solutions. By empowering individuals, families and groups, and changing lives, we strive to make Clinton a better place by creating a safe, nonviolent, nurturing place for Clinton’s youth and their families to grow. Tamra Jetter, Director, is a behavioral analyst with over 16 years experience working with youth, including 4 years with Chicago Urban League. Tiffany Harris is coordinator of Clinton High School iJAG program and has broad based experiences with youth.
