Project Title: One to One Reading Tutoring 2025
Project Description:

EDU-LINK supports students and families through offering scholarships for an intensive one on one private tutoring reading program (outside of school). These scholarships, based on a family income sliding scale, make this life changing experience available to all and not just to those who can afford it. A full scholarship for 100 hours of tutoring costs $3000, so this grant could support 300 hours of tutoring for 3 students on a full scholarship. Our local data shows that the COVID years caused a big interruption of education and especially in regards to reading. In our research, we have read that a lack of literacy can lead to higher health risks, greater unemployment, poverty and crime and so we are committed to doing our part in helping to create responsible-children in their families, students in their classrooms and eventually citizens in their communities. Reading opens a whole new world of freedom!
