Project Title: A Creative Journey Camp
Project Description:
Volunteers for Youth Justice is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide a community caring for children, youth, and families in crisis. Our organization recognizes the transformative power of mentorship and leadership programs aiming to redirect youth towards purposeful and positive living. To further our mission, we are excited to present our proposal for funding support from the Hermanowski Foundation to support our art camp.
The Creative Journey Camp is an immersive experience aimed at introducing middle and high school students to the world of art, design, and creative expression. Through hands-on workshops and interactive sessions, participants will have the opportunity to explore various artistic disciplines under the mentorship of seasoned professionals in public arts, musical arts, and performing arts. Students will not only work closely with these creatives to gain skill, insight, and personal experience but also gain personal growth to discover and unlock their creative potential.
The objective of this proposal is to provide meaningful access to the Creative Journey Camp for marginalized and disadvantaged youth in our community, giving them a chance to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery through the arts. With the generous support of the Hermanowski Foundation, VYJ seeks to offer full student scholarships to 50 deserving individuals who may not otherwise have the means to participate in such an enriching program. These scholarships will cover essential expenses including art supplies, lessons, as well as daily snacks and lunch, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder their ability to engage with the arts and unlock their creative potential.
The partnership between VYJ and the Hermanowski Foundation holds the promise of empowering marginalized youth with the tools and opportunities they need to flourish by nurturing individual artistic growth while also cultivating a generation of young leaders who will contribute positively to their communities.
