Project Title: HDCM Educational Outreach
Project Description:

Our programs allow participating students, teachers, and schools equal access to our programs and opportunities. Through three areas of focus, we strive to allow young children to experience the highest levels of music performance and cultivate an interest that can lead to lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of the musical performing arts.

1: Visits to local schools – Current public school funding does not allow for programs such as these, so HDCM bridges this by offering their guest musicians for performances and Q&A sessions.
2: Master Classes for accomplished young musicians – Auditions are held for the opportunity to perform in these classes, and students come from across the state to take part. In addition, connections continue to be made with our visiting artists for musical advancement opportunities at festivals and music schools.
3: Spotlight Chamber Players training group – HDCM strives to bridge the gap for young students who do not have the means or resources to pursue the study privately. The group receives weekly instruction and presents a final concert in June. Students are also provided with multiple performance opportunities through the year.
In addition, any student in the Bend-LaPine School District is welcome to attend any event in the HDCM Concert Series at no cost. These admissions are handled through the music director and ensure that no student is turned away and our concerts are accessible to all students.

All our Educational Outreach programs are provided at no cost to students, teachers, or schools in Central Oregon.
