Project Title: Movers & Shakers: Youth Activism Program
Project Description:

The Movers & Shakers Youth Activism Program, a subsidiary of our Movers & Shakers mentorship initiative, empowers and nurtures BIPOC high school students in the New York Metropolitan Area. This transformative eight-month journey includes one-on-one mentorship, skill-building workshops, community service, and study abroad opportunities.

At the core of our program lies a holistic approach to youth development encapsulated in the acronym I AM C.U.L.T.U.R.E.D. Our goal is to enhance the social, intellectual, and mental well-being of our student ambassadors, fostering the growth of empowered Global Citizens.

In collaboration with mentors and facilitators, students embark on a journey of self-discovery and activism. Through education, advocacy, and hands-on experience, participants cultivate the skills and confidence to effect positive change in their communities.

Throughout the program, students engage in personalized mentorship, monthly workshops, community service, and study abroad experiences, fostering their growth as informed, compassionate leaders.

Mentors guide student ambassadors in creating campaigns through discussions and research, encouraging involvement with local organizations supporting their causes.

The culmination of the Youth Activism program is a final presentation where students showcase their campaigns and initiatives addressing identified issues. A cumulative video of select students’ impactful work is featured at our Annual Fundraising Gala and Community Day, celebrating their contributions to a better world.

Our program’s goals are clear: empower students to identify, advocate for, and address relevant issues; create meaningful campaigns and initiatives; and inspire lifelong commitment to activism and social change.
