Project Title: Summer Leadership Impact Program
Project Description:

Our Summer Leadership Impact Program is a leadership focused, 6-week summer program. It builds upon our Core Program curriculum through anti-oppression theory and experiential learning workshops to develop the next generation of tSB Peer Leaders, local civic leaders, and advocates alike. Participants will engage in social justice based projects led by organizational partners, receive mentorship from youth leaders in our community, and engage in outdoor activities like rock climbing, surfing, and camping! In 2023, our SLIP youth worked with Black Farmers Collective to design and paint a mural for their greenhouse and participated in an art and design based workshop centered around social justice and public space organized by the Seattle Art Museum. All participants who finish SLIP are automatically considered for a Peer Leader role in next year’s Core Program, allowing them to expand their leadership experience and continue to participate in the tSB community.
