Project Title: The Victory Center – Proven Effectiveness Helping Those With Autism
Project Description:
The Victory Center (TVC) has a legacy of providing hope, education, and opportunities for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Success has been demonstrated with programs that provide comprehensive educational pathways, tailored vocational training, and multifaceted life skill development. Delivered by educators and behavioral health professionals using therapy-based principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the most scientifically-validated autism intervention, this platform has been called remarkable by parents.
ABA requires intensive student to teacher ratios in order to provide the appropriate dosage of therapy as well as to meet the unique needs of each individual student. TVC today serves 38 children in our school program. This is the highest enrollment level in our school’s history with an ever expanding wait-list in the primary, secondary, and young adult.
We are now at an all-time high in student enrollment because of the outstanding commitment of the dedicated staff of behavioral specialists and their ability to fulfill the needs of our community. We’ve expanded our digital footprint, are engaging with more families through social media and are spreading awareness about autism and the educational and therapeutic opportunities that are available.
Success, however, is often accompanied by challenges as well. Our commitment to low student-to-teacher ratios is driven by our adherence to the therapeutic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. With full classrooms and a growing waitlist in our Primary, Secondary and Adult programs, our staff has had to grow commensurately. Tuition and state aide covers only a portion of what it takes to run our school and to kindle the potential of our aspiring students. Thus is our task to achieve the optimum balance.
The Victory Center takes great pride as students move on to less restrictive programs, graduate from high school and college, and assume outside employment opportunities to achieve their full potential.
