GNMF provides access to free music education programs for underserved children throughout Palm Beach County (PBC) in partnership with PBC Schools and Community-based Non-Profit agencies serving low-income children and families in need. Grace Notes develops and provides a variety of initiatives for school-age children and youth, including,
• In and After-School Music Education in collaboration with non-profit human services organizations and PBC Title 1 Public Schools
• Individual Music Lessons with need-based scholarships for children
• Mindful Music – Music Therapy Program with PBC nonprofit partners.
• Instrument Assistance for PBC Students.
• Current development of a preschool music program in collaboration with non-profit entities in high-poverty, high-crime communities
• Current development of an after-school youth orchestra in collaboration with non-profit entities in high-poverty, high-crime communities
The purpose of our work goes beyond learning to play an instrument and into the well-documented benefits of music education that prepares students for learning by helping develop their basic mental skills and capacities. (citations available):
