Project Title: Tutoring Children with Autism
Project Description:

I am thrilled to introduce a transformative education program designed to empower children with autism on their academic journey. A common characteristic of children with autism is developmental delays which result in the need for individualized education plans or IEP’s. Therefore, our goal for our Tutoring Program for Children with Autism is to improve the academic development and achievement for under-served families touched by autism.

Our innovative tutoring program focuses on enhancing reading and math proficiency for a minimum of 10 children aged 5-11 diagnosed with autism. Acknowledging the unique learning needs of these exceptional individuals, we have carefully crafted an 8-week curriculum, conducted for one hour weekly, to ensure targeted and impactful support. With all the expensive therapeutic interventions children autism typically receive, we plan to provide tutoring at no cost to decrease the financial burden on families.

The cornerstone of our program lies in our dedicated tutors, each equipped with a specialized background in special education. These experienced professionals bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding, creating a nurturing environment tailored to the specific challenges and strengths of children with autism.

To gauge the program’s effectiveness, we employ comprehensive assessments at both the program’s commencement and conclusion. This data-driven approach allows us to tailor our tutoring sessions dynamically, adapting to the evolving needs of each child.

Beyond academic enrichment, our program fosters a sense of community and inclusivity. By addressing the unique educational requirements of children with autism, we aim to unlock their full potential, promoting self-confidence and a love for learning.

We understand that supporting under-served families extends beyond the classroom. Through this tutoring program, we aspire to create a ripple effect, positively impacting not only the academic achievements of these remarkable children but also contributing to their holistic development.
