Project Title: After School Program Support for Children Living in Under-Resourced Chicago Community
Project Description:

The Montessori School of Englewood (TMSOE) respectfully requests $10,000 to support the inaugural year of their After School Program (School year 2024-2025). In January, TMSOE launched a six-month pilot of the After School Program, which is getting positive feedback from parents and students alike. The pilot will inform any additions and modifications for the full program. In the first year, the school will provide a combination of core and extra-curricular programming to 50 students.

Funds from the Hermanowski Foundation would be used specifically to support critical tutoring and materials for diverse learners and bilingual students, including bilingual educational materials for migrant students. and student assessments

The mission of the Montessori School of Englewood (TMSOE) is to create a learning community where members trust one another to use their heads, hearts, and hands to commit to growth and fulfillment that prepares children for life. TMSOE is the only tuition-free Montessori Charter School in Chicago. We believe all children deserve the opportunity to experience a Montessori education, regardless of their race, gender, or economic status. We bring the unique benefits of a Montessori education back to its roots– to the children who need it most and who will reap the greatest impact.
