Project Title: Teen Suicide Prevention Program
Project Description:

With Hope Foundation is dedicated to suicide prevention by improving mental health awareness and education in our schools and communities throughout Southern California. We provide suicide prevention programs, speakers, materials, resources, crisis intervention, postvention support services, counseling referrals, and financial counseling assistance for at-risk teens, ages 12 – 18.

Nineteen years ago, a 14-year-old high school freshman in Orange County, CA, died by suicide. Amber Craig was beautiful, strong, and deeply loved. Although alert to her distress, her family was unaware of the signs and risk factors for suicide. As a result of this tragedy, With Hope, the Amber Craig Memorial Foundation was established. Since our founding in 2005, we have brought our suicide prevention and mental health awareness programs to over 325,000 students, teachers, parents, staff, and community members.

According to the CDC, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for ages 10 -14 and is the 3rd leading cause of death for ages 15 – 24. Mental health in teens showed a 31% increase in mental health-related emergencies, a 93% increase in depression and anxiety, and a 51% increase in suicide attempts for girls ages 12 – 17. Suicide can often be prevented through education, awareness, early intervention, treatment, and good postvention care.

With Hope Foundation is dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Our goals are to promote open communication, educate, equip, and empower teens, by providing them with the knowledge needed to recognize the warning signs and risk factors of suicide and provide critical, life-saving interventions.

Please consider partnering with us to meet our goal and help us make a life-saving difference.
