Project Title: Youth After school program
Project Description:
Our after-school program is designed to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience for students, focusing on culinary arts, sports, and restorative circles. Through this multifaceted approach, we aim to foster holistic development, promote healthy lifestyles, and create a supportive community for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
The culinary arts component of the program will offer hands-on cooking classes where students can explore diverse cuisines, learn essential culinary skills, and develop an appreciation for healthy eating habits. With the support of this grant, we will procure high-quality cooking equipment, fresh ingredients, and hire experienced instructors to lead engaging and educational culinary sessions.
In parallel, the sports activities within the program will provide opportunities for physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. We will utilize grant funds to acquire sports equipment, and hire skilled coaches.
Central to our program is the implementation of restorative circles, which provide safe and brave spaces for students to discuss barriers to success, navigate life challenges, and build supportive relationships. Through guided discussions and restorative practices, students will develop conflict resolution skills, empathy, and emotional resilience, enhancing their social and emotional well-being.
The program seeks to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. By integrating culinary arts, sports, and restorative circles, we aim to address the diverse needs and interests of our participants, promoting holistic development and fostering a sense of belonging within our program and in the school community.
With the generous support of this grant, we are confident that D.A.F.T will make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of our students, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and support systems necessary for success in school and beyond.
