Project Title: General Operating Support to Expand CAC’s Mission and Programs
Project Description:
Grant Request for: General Operating Support to Respond to Community Needs
CAC’s grant request of $10,000 will support the purchase of arts materials and supplies needed to continue to deliver and grow our arts education programs – specifically our tuition-based classes and workshops that are not grant funded. Arts materials include; paint, clay, sketch books, costumes, supplies for STEAM, and related activities such as batteries, robotics, wood, blocks, cardboard, nails/screws, and levers, etc. CAC strives to keep our tuition-based classes affordable to ensure accessibility for all students which means only a small arts materials fee is embedded in each class price.
Programmatic support includes supporting teachers/instructors for new programs listed in our new Strategic Plan that include; Midday art enrichment programming for Homeschool children. Funds for scholarships for afterschool programs for kids in our community such as the Boys and Girls Club of Glen Burnie. Expand “Arts on the Road” programs that will provide one-time, pop-up, or ongoing arts classes in local community centers, libraries, clubs, and other locations throughout the County to offer students access to quality arts experiences in their own neighborhoods.
CAC’s 2024-2026 strategic plan goals:
Goal A: Empower children and adults of all ages, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities to experience varied and meaningful arts opportunities.
Goal B: Foster and develop partnerships with artists, community organizations, schools, donors, and partners to enhance our capacity for greater impact
Goal C: Optimize CAC operations for greater effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
Goal D: Plan for CAC’s ongoing and future facility needs to ensure high quality program delivery, organizational sustainability, and community impact.
CAC carries out its mission year-round by sponsoring and presenting arts education classes and workshops in visual arts, performing arts, and STEAM in classrooms, studios, and our Michael Stanley MakerSpace, and presenting exhibitions in two galleries and other exhibit spaces; sponsoring performances in two theaters; hosting several community events.
