Project Title: Let’s Talk Offline: Teen Empowerment Workshops
Project Description:

Family Development Enterprise, Inc. was created to fill a need for the youth of tomorrow. More specifically, our “Let’s Talk Offline” Teen Empowerment Workshops are after-school training programs provided to youth & young adults to shape their soft skills in preparation for their next steps. Accessibility of our programs are a priority as we offer both virtual and in-person options. Through our Teen Empowerment Workshop sessions, we prioritize teamwork, communication, creativity, and literacy. Our workshops are a comprehensive approach for students to maximize their potential to improve, learn and grow in all aspects of life. Not only do the students learn valuable lessons from the workshops, but also create lasting relationships with peers within their community.

Our sessions include the following:
Let’s Talk Offline: Building Key Communication strategies among youth
Financial literacy and money management;
Behavior Health Referrals Process in place;
“Let’s Read and Talk”: – Book of the month;
Basic Writing Skill Building Workshop;
Rites of Passage for Females and Males;
Teen Parenting Classes
Tell Your Story- How to Publish Your Book
Think Tank Group.

Our most honorable program “Tell Your Story” has a coach assigned to guide students on how to publish a book on a topic of their choice. Currently, we have two of our high school students’ and one college student in our January 2024 class. Their books will be published on Amazon.com, through our partnership with an independent publishing company.

We also provide a Social Media Marketing Internship workshop, where they learn how to post on various social media platforms, develop relevant and current content, and assist the publishing of our quarterly newsletter.
