Project Title: Kids Club
Project Description:

The Reclaimed Project’s Youth Program covers kids ages K-12. The Kids Club is a component of that program and focuses on the K-8th grade. The Kids Club is designed to provide students with structure and support to help them thrive. The kids in the program come from a county with 49% poverty amongst children vs. 16.1% in the USA, where the average family income is $31,192, less than half of the U.S. average of $67,521. The county is 72% African American, but 98% of our students who attend are African American. Kids Club uses Dreambox for reading and math to help struggling students. This computer software program is adaptive to the child’s individual needs. Our program aims to equip our children to excel in school, no matter what the situation is at home. We also provide social and emotional support with full-time staff and volunteers and seek to add arts exposure and field trips primarily during our summer enrichment program, in partnership with WinShape. Our program also works hand in hand with our Teacher Fellowship Program, which provides high-quality teachers to the Quitman County School District. Reclaimed partners with local churches and other groups within the Quitman community to provide resources and opportunities to students. We need an additional teacher for our students in order to expand our program. Your support would mean that more students K-8th grade are served in Quitman County, MS.
