Project Description:

The Extended Learning Solutions after school program will be able to help minimize low literacy skills and youth and teen incarceration rates within the Washington County community. After school programs, whether run by schools, churches, or other community groups, provide positive environments and enriching activities that truly interest and benefit teens. From some students, after school programs make the difference between failure and success as they venture into the next phase of their lives. The JM Kelly Creative Arts School is committed to improving educational and recreational activities for students, while conducting more community outreach, based on the established within our community. We are working to help the students receive the full benefits of an education by combining creative arts with literacy and mathematics, as well as incorporating science and social studies into the curriculum. JM Kelly School of Creative Arts believes that through the arts, students are more engaged, and can learn through real-world experiences.
