Project Title: Restart to Restore Mentoring Initiative
Project Description:

The primary focus of Restart to Restore is to increase self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-empowerment to make positive, proactive decisions in everyday life of those in the community. Emotional intelligence (EQ) and Transformational learning are significant parts of living a productive life and reaching short and long-term goals. Below are several commonly occurring factors that prevent individuals from reaching higher levels of adherence and resilience :

Substance misuse
Systems Mistrust
Busy schedule (overworked)
Domestic Violence
Entrenched trauma
Internalized racism
Mental health challenges

These factors have created entrenched barriers and health inequities, particularly in minority health initiatives throughout the United States. Our Restart to Restore Program initiative addresses the underlying causes of these barriers that keep individuals from gaining overall health and wellness. Many other variables must be addressed, including the complexities of race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Fundamentally, Restart to Restore is psychosocial education, teaching all-inclusive, self-empowerment skills that will offer individuals the choice to replace reactive behavior, reframe perspective, and make proactive decisions while learning pertinent techniques that will serve to promote important life skills, including self-respect, compassion, and social responsibility.
Restart to Restore helps to shift perceptions from survival mode reactions to proactive decision-making life skills. This helps to move participants into a place of courage, confidence, and self-compassion.
Former participants of this program confirm the transformative impact on their mental health and wellness, families, workplace performance, and community involvement; thus, creating positive outcomes for future generations to come. When people know better, they can begin to do better. My own life experiences are evidence of this fact.

Total Project Budget: $9,904 to $14,856 for 12 weeks (Depending on the size of the group of 8 to 12 participants.
