Project Title: K-6 Youth Summer Camps
Project Description:

The Josephy Center for Arts and Culture (JCAC) is a community gathering place dedicated to “celebrating, promoting and inspiring arts and culture in Wallowa County.” We provide visual and performing arts education classes for people of all ages, host a wide variety of culturally-engaging community events and discussions, promoting Nez Perce education, and presenting high-quality exhibits and musical performances year-round. In this isolated, rural community, JCAC fills a critical gap in art education for Wallowa County youth.

We are excited to highlight the flourishing arts community in our region, where the breathtaking landscapes right outside our doors provide a unique backdrop for creative inspiration. In our ongoing commitment to fostering artistic talents among the youth, we are seeking financial support for our 2025 Youth Summer Camps in Wallowa County.
These camps aim to offer high-quality, enriching arts education to rural youth, catering specifically to children in grades K-6. The program will consist of four week-long half-day summer camps, strategically designed to engage young minds through innovative activities that both captivate their interests and impart valuable arts skills.
Wallowa County, nestled amidst the rugged and awe-inspiring beauty of the Eagle Cap Wilderness and Wallowa Mountains, attracts a million visitors annually. This natural splendor has contributed to the evolution of our county into a thriving arts community.
By supporting these art camps, you will be directly contributing to the nurturing of skills in our youth at an early age. The majestic mountainous landscape that surrounds us serves as not just a scenic backdrop but a living canvas for young artists to draw inspiration from. Your assistance will empower us to continue fostering a love for the arts, creating a lasting impact on the cultural vibrancy of Wallowa County.
Funds will be used for art supplies, instructors and scholarships.
