Project Title: Young Audience Matinees and School Outreach
Project Description:

The Ross Ragland Theater and Cultural Center is located in Klamath Falls Oregon. Klamath Falls is a very rural and isolated area with a high poverty rate. Our non-profit theater is comprised of more than 7 youth-focused educational programs and has a profound impact on the community and those we serve. Our young audience matinees are a fieldtrip destination for our local and surrounding school systems. We bring educational acts and entertainers so that the schools and children have access to arts and culture. In 2012, funding was cut from the schools for arts, music and cultural education. The Ross Ragland Theater stepped in to fill that role and we have been doing so ever since. We serve more than 10,000 students ages k-12 every season and many of them return multiple times throughout the season. We also take the artists into the schools to teach workshops and work personally with the children. This project will run from October of 2024 through September of 2025.
