Operation‌ ‌Taking‌ ‌Back‌ ‌901‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌nonprofit‌ ‌501c3‌ ‌organization‌ ‌whose‌ ‌mission‌ ‌is‌ ‌to‌ ‌implement‌ ‌economic‌ ‌and‌ ‌educational‌ ‌programs‌ ‌for‌ ‌underserved‌ ‌youth‌ ‌and‌ ‌their‌ ‌families‌ ‌in‌ ‌Shelby‌ ‌County.‌ ‌Operation‌ ‌Taking‌ ‌Back‌ ‌901‌ ‌is‌ ‌broken‌ ‌down‌ ‌into‌ ‌two ‌components, ‌ ‌which‌ ‌are‌ ‌Career‌ ‌Ready and Road‌ ‌to‌ ‌Greatness. ‌All‌ ‌‌include‌ ‌promoting‌ ‌and‌ ‌providing‌ ‌broad‌ ‌opportunities‌ ‌that‌ ‌will‌ ‌enhance‌ ‌Community‌ ‌Development, ‌ ‌Business‌ ‌Workforce‌ ‌Development‌ ‌Training, ‌ ‌Economic‌ ‌Development, ‌ Mental Health, ‌Education‌ ‌and‌ ‌Social‌ ‌Services.‌ ‌

This mission is so important to me. I am a product of Memphis City Schools and the North Memphis community. I overcame every challenge that could have taken me out. To name a few, teenage pregnancy (had a baby at 16), brokenness, and no real mentors. Instead of falling victim to what society laid in my path, I turned my pain into purpose. I am a self-published author of four books and certified life coach for professional/business development. The action plan behind this program is to assist with peer development, self esteem building and life skills training. Our hope is to educate by being real, relevant & transparent. I feel that my skill set is sufficient because I was once in the neighborhood & wore those same shoes but in a different size.
