Project Title: The Bridge Kids
Project Description:
The primary mission of Wear it Well is to inspire, educate and motivate the at-risk youth in the community to be their very best. We offer resources and support that help to positively guide and empower children 10-18 years of age. We provide the tools necessary to enhance their potential outlook and outcome with prospective endeavors in and out of the classrooms.
Youth offender rates throughout the state are consistently on the rise, according to a report issued by the (MDHS) Mississippi Department of Human Services. Most youth offenders are between 9-19 years old and within the age range of our Bridge program for 10-18 years of age. We are preventing the status quo and refuse to turn our youth away; our program will be enhanced to reduce recidivism.
Our youth program “The Bridge” has proven to be an effective template for increasing self-confidence and the implementation of additional life managing skills. The training and structure provided in our study sessions, professional tutoring and career preparation workshops are available for students of all ages. This program offers concentration to the at-risk youth but is open to all students, our methods can be utilized by youth of diverse backgrounds and proven to be beneficial to individuals of all ages. We focus on the total care of our youth and extend services that will allow them to expand their goals to help realize their dreams. Our program presents opportunities and training for youth to become positively productive citizens in society. The vision is for every student to be a well-established contributor to the community. We promote bonding, confidence and self-determination on every level allowing prospective improvement and growth with projected achievements.
