Project Description:
To whom it may concern:
Children in Crisis would like to provide the following information in a written request for consideration of funding.
Children in Crisis is a 501c3 non-profit (65-1196220) committed to “Providing Homes . . . Keeping Brothers and Sisters Together.” The Children’s Neighborhood provides an emergency shelter for young children. Our family foster homes help with the severe shortage of foster homes in our community. By providing a home to our target population (large sibling foster groups) we are enhancing the children’s lives by keeping the connection with their brothers and sisters. We are also providing these children with a safe and stable environment in which they will grow and thrive. Because of foundations like yours, we have given a safe and loving home to over 1050 children since 2008. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of children.
We support Circuit 1 of NorthWest Florida which includes Okaloosa, Escambia, Santa Rosa & Walton Counties. Each foster home is staffed 365 days a year with a married couple who provides a loving environment catering to each specific need of our sibling groups, and the children stay as long as they need a home. There are a total of five foster homes, as well as an "Opportunity Home," which has 8 studio apartments for ages (18-22) who age out of the foster care system, and will continue to learn independent living skills. CIC also provides "Wrap Around" services which focus on teaching our children basic independent living skills so self-sufficiency can be achieved. Many of our programs exist to serve within our multipurpose Kid’s Clubhouse. Our Kids Clubhouse is our safe, interactive, fun atmosphere for the kids. Homework help, lessons, special occasions, and therapy sessions are provided here. Children in Crisis provides complete care for the children we serve. Not only is each child given a safe, supportive, and loving home but are also provided with additional services.
