Project Title: CCF Endowment Fund
Project Description:

The Carmel Connection Foundation (CCF) is a non-profit corporation established to support the needs of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School (OLMCS) in Asbury Park, NJ and its students. Our main objective is funding a multi-million-dollar endowment, the income from which will help offset the unpaid tuition of their inner-city and immigrant students, who mostly come from low-income families that cannot afford the full tuition.

OLMCS was founded in 1923 and to date has educated thousands of children. Graduates are highly ranked and continue their education at the most desirable high schools in the area, and later at many of the best colleges in the country. The multiplier effect later in life that these children have on their families and communities is very significant.

The average annual family income of the students is only about $31,000, but all families pay partial tuition on a sliding scale, means-based system. So, with each year comes a financial challenge to offset the remaining tuition due. Various fund-raisers are ongoing, but typically not enough. A longer-term solution was needed.

After much discussion among people dedicated to the school’s survival, the CCF was established in 2021 and since then our fund has grown to over $1,200,000. CCF’s sole mission is to create a multi-million-dollar endowment that will place the school on a solid financial foundation and cover the remaining tuition due each year. More information is available at <ccf4olmc.org>.

Please join us in helping approximately 200 inner-city and immigrant children each year receive a quality K – 8th grade education in a safe, stimulating environment. Unfortunately, the public schools in this area are not an attractive option.

Total Project Budget: CCF has no operating budget. Our staff is all volunteers and no salaries are paid. Any significant expenses are paid by the Trustees. Our initial goal is to raise $3,000,000.
