Project Title: Trinity Episcopal School Financial Assistance for Families
Project Description:

Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte, NC, respectfully requests $10,000 to support financial assistance for students and families in need.

Trinity Episcopal School (TES) serves the educational and emotional needs of children in the greater Charlotte area. TES is called to inspire these young lives, creating outstanding scholars who are grounded in a firm spiritual foundation and an enduring commitment to the richness of diversity. As Uptown Charlotte’s only K-8 independent school, Trinity’s students are a vibrant reflection of our community: over 440 currently enrolled students come to us from 19 different zip codes in Charlotte. 16 different religions are represented in our student body—only 14% of students are Episcopalian—and 33% of students identify as racial or ethnic minorities. 34% of this year’s students receive either tuition remission or financial assistance, with an average award of $18,206.

Trinity Episcopal School is committed to the breadth of the Episcopal tradition in both unity and diversity. We strive to attract and admit a student body that reflects the greater Charlotte community, both socio-economically and culturally. Trinity currently provides need-based financial support made possible, in part, by our Trinity Fund. All students (K-8) are eligible to apply for financial assistance. In 2022-23 we awarded $2.1M in financial assistance to over 28% of our students. Awards are based on demonstrated need as assessed by the School & Student Services (SSS). SSS provides, at the request of parents, a financial analysis based on the confidential Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). The application for financial support has no bearing on admission to Trinity Episcopal School.

With support from the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation, Trinity can offer more students financial assistance, removing financial barriers to access and giving more children the opportunity to nurture their talents and achieve their potential.
