Project Title: Character Does Matter: Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders
Project Description:

Travis Manion Foundation’s signature military veteran-led youth mentorship program is Character Does Matter (CDM). Character Does Matter represents the culmination of TMF’s mission, leveraging the skills of our nation’s military community as role models, educating youth on character and leadership. The basis of all Travis Manion Foundation programming and the Character Does Matter curriculum is Positive Psychology, a field dedicated to studying factors that contribute to individual and community well-being and thriving. Individuals involved with CDM are empowered to improve their well-being by finding meaning and purpose in their lives, developing meaningful relationships, and fully engaging in activities. Through CDM, veterans inspire students, with a focus on fourth through twelfth grades, to live a life of service, leadership, and character.

Travis Manion Foundation is requesting a $10,000 commitment from the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation to continue our impactful partnership in 2024. Funds will support the continued program execution and growth of the Character Does Matter program in Florida. Specifically, this project will fund program supplies, ongoing curriculum development, enhanced CDM Veteran Mentor trainings, and experiential learning challenges within the CDM program. Additionally, this funding will be integral to supporting the advent of TMF Clubs for youth participants of the program as they streamline community service activation at their respective schools.
