Project Title: Junior Achievement: Financially Literacy for K-12 students
Project Description:

Through an investment of $5,000, Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky will be able to provide its financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship education programs to students at schools with an LMI of above 50%. LMI, or low to moderate income, helps our organization hone in on the populations that are most in need of that extra push or encouragement.

Through our state and federal-approved curriculum, K-12 students can explore their financial future and future career. Students will be able to explore their skills, interests, values, and the world of work to make informed education, career, and life decisions. Through our programs, they should develop their knowledge of personal finance to apply strong financial-management skills regardless of income. The mentorship piece of our programming consists of training community volunteers to present our curriculum to students.

This gift, if awarded, would correlate to a total of 10 classrooms, around 250 students, and 10 community volunteers that we will impact. For reference, one classroom requires the funding of $500 to cover all materials, time, travel, and volunteer training. With your support, JA of SCKY will be able to fund middle school classrooms at schools with a LMI of over 50%.
