Project Title: Triumph Educational Center Supervised Visitation Program
Project Description:
Triumph Ministries is seeking support for our Supervised Visitation Program. This program services noncustodial parents and their children in the San Francisco Bay Area who have experienced domestic trauma and have mandates from Alameda County Social Services or Alameda County Family Court to receive supervised visitation. Our program takes a strengths-based perspective, believing that there is hope for anyone who is motivated to change and improve. No family should be left behind or counted as a lost cause.
Supervised Visitation is extremely important in the early phases of recovery, as it allows parents to connect with their children and, in certain cases, with each other in a safe environment. Without these services available, children would either be put at risk to form relationships with their parents or be unable to do so entirely. Supervised Visits take place in a safe, natural environment facilitated by our monitors who are trained to encourage positive family interaction. Our goals are to provide safety for the child, parents, and monitor while encouraging positive interaction and relationship development. The rooms in our facility include books, toys, movies, and other items for parents to engage in play and similar activities with their children. We have a formal kitchen, giving parents an opportunity to prepare meals and eat with children. Our space is also equipped with a nursery for parents to visit with newborn and infant children. The options we provide are based on the needs of the parents and/or the terms of the court orders. Our monitor staff is culturally competent, meets the standards for providers under Family Code 3200 and 3200.5, and has experience working with children, ranging in age from infant to adult. Our desire is to provide a comfortable space for the children and ensure the family has the best experience possible.
