Project Title: Catch The Vision
Project Description:

Eye Care 4 Kids is committed to serve communities in need and especially children in need. With all the other challenges facing low income communities and children, Eye Care 4 Kids wants to do its part to bridge the vision care gap and give our children an equal opportunity to excel in the classroom.

The completion of this project has the capacity to transform the lives of hundreds of children and their families. With your support, we can make the difference needed

Through our six clinics in Salt Lake-Midvale (Utah); Las Vegas (Nevada), Phoenix (Arizona), and New Jersey and 3 Mobile “SEE-MORE” Clinics which visit the indian reservations, schools and rural areas, Eye Care 4 Kids serve provides comprehensive care for almost 35,000 children who are uninsured, underinsured, or can’t afford to visit the eye doctor or purchase prescription glasses.

Given high unemployment and loss of health insurance due to COVID-19 and long hours of screen time in virtual learning also threatening the health of our children’s eyes, we are experiencing increased demand for help from parents, teachers, and community leaders looking for affordable professional vision care.

Eye Care 4 Kids gives patients at all sites, including the mobile unit, the kind of personalized, high-quality experience they’d expect from a paid clinic. All patients receive a vision screening by a qualified technician (if not pre-screened), evaluation by an optician or optometrist, an eye exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist and a new, quality pair of eyeglasses with polycarbonate, scratch-resistant corrective lenses and UV coating, and case.

The proposed grant of $10,000 would enable nearly 240 students to receive eye exams and new prescription glasses at very low or no cost in 2022:
• 200 basic eyeglasses @ $35 per pair = $7,000
• 40 special prescription @ $70 per pair = $2,800

Total Project Budget: $3,454,893
