Project Title: The PACT Program
Project Description:

“The PACT Program,” launched on November 13th, 2021 with the goal of creating a multi-level mentorship program for students in South East DC. Essentially, this program is to create a system of positive relationships that will foster social, emotional, and educational growth for at-risk youth. Our vision is the following:

– Influential adults mentor high school students.
– High schoolers mentor middle school students.
– Middle schoolers mentor elementary school students.

Currently, the PACT Program focuses on three schools in particular: Bard Early College HS, Ida B Wells Middle School, and Stanton Elementary School. All three schools are currently placed in Ward 8 which is generally regarded as the most dangerous area of DC and the area with the highest poverty rate. The funding will be used to to assist with providing equitable education to at risk youth through tutoring and mentorship. In addition, a portion of the funding will also be used for resources and supplies. Our hope is to eventually expand this program across various needing sectors in DC.
