Project Title: Elevar Foundation Community Outreach Program
Project Description:

Knowing it is crucial to offer underserved audiences free learning and performance opportunities, the Elevar Foundation will present Community Outreach Week 2023 for young audiences in its home state of Florida as well as year-round community engagement activities.
Elevar’s Community Outreach Week will follow Elevar’s prestigious Third Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition to be held in January 2023 at Lynn University’s Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton. The week of free performances will feature competition winners from 2017, 2020, and 2023 in engagements at schools, churches, libraries, and community-based organizations.
Throughout the year, under the auspices of the Elevar Foundation, first-prize winners of the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition (EOIVC) provide masterclasses and community engagement opportunities for underserved and hard-to-reach individuals on a regular basis nearly everywhere they perform. From concerts and talk backs at Title 1 public schools to intimate musical gatherings at community centers, hospitals, churches and libraries, their commitment to giving back knows no bounds. The Elevar Foundation is so lucky to have such dedicated Laureates who believe in its mission.
Elmar Oliveira, Elevar founder and international renowned violinist, delivers master classes on a regular basis throughout the year for young aspiring violinists. An attendee at a recent virtual masterclass wrote, “Thank you for the masterclass. I really enjoyed playing for you. I realized that when people hear a famous violinist, they become inspired by it, and it makes them want to practice really hard to be a great violinist. I learned a lot of new bowings and fingerings from you. I appreciate your taking the time to teach me. I will always remember this masterclass with you.”
