Project Title: Children and Youth Mental Wellness Program
Project Description:

Our Children and Youth Mental Wellness Program serves Palm Beach County (PBC) children/youth 3-18 who would otherwise be denied services due to inability to afford. Serving this need since 2012 and with the ramifications of Covid, the need has never been greater; in 2021, we provided services to 170 children/youth, making up 30-40% of our client base. Our mental wellness services help children/youth suffering from trauma regulate their emotions, stop self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation/attempts, and prevents costly and additionally traumatic inpatient placement.

For PBC’s most in-need children/youth, services are:

• FREE to those who qualify, as funding allows
• provided by qualified therapists experienced in child/youth trauma
• offered in English, Spanish and Creole, reducing language barriers
• available without a waitlist
• provided through several easily accessible ‘avenues to care’ to expand access for ALL; in-office, telehealth/phone and aboard the Mobile Hope Clinic (MHC)

Funding will support direct mental healthcare services to children/youth, where services can be received at the most convenient ‘avenue to care’ for the client; in-office, via telehealth/phone & now through the MHC. The MHC is our most innovative service expansion effort to date, where making services available to ALL is our primary objective. The MHC operates on our highly successful ‘community-partner model’; partnering with other local agencies where children/youth already visit for other services, thereby eliminating the hardship of additional travel to us.

Clients without insurance and living below poverty level are offered 8-10 FREE sessions. Those that do not qualify for free sessions are offered extremely reduced rates based on a sliding scale starting at $45 per session. Your support in the amount of $10,000 will allow us to offer these described services to approximately 20 at risk children/youth in 2023.

More info about our agency and the MHC can found on our Facebook and website pages: https://www.facebook.com/palmbeachmentalhealth.org/
