Project Title: Creating Opportunities to Reach Excellence (CORE) after-school program
Project Description:

The CORE After School Program equips middle and high school students with the academic, cultural, and leadership foundations they need to thrive. Rooted in Latinas Leading Tomorrow’s mission, CORE provides structured support across four pillars: Academics, Cultural Identity, Leadership Development, and Community Service.
Students receive targeted academic guidance, including college readiness support that helps them navigate high school and prepare for post secondary opportunities with confidence. CORE also strengthens cultural identity by creating space for students to explore their heritage, celebrate their lived experiences, and build pride in who they are.
Leadership development is woven throughout the program, giving students opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, problem solving, and public speaking. These experiences help them grow into strong, self aware leaders ready to advocate for themselves and their communities.
Through community service, students learn the importance of giving back. They participate in service projects, mentorship activities, and civic engagement efforts that deepen their connection to the community and reinforce the value of contributing to something larger than themselves.
Together, these pillars empower Latina students to excel academically, embrace their identity, develop essential leadership skills, and serve as positive role models for others.
