Project Title: Funding Support for a 10-Week Free Summer Program
Project Description:

Recognizing the growing need for affordable childcare beyond the school year, PYC is expanding its summer programming to provide a free, full-day, ten-week program operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This expansion addresses a critical gap in the community, as many youth have aged out of Plymouth’s only traditional childcare option but are still too young to be left home alone while parents work. The program will provide 30 youth with a safe, enriching environment from late June through late August, including four nutritious meals each day, ensuring that no child goes without supervision, nourishment, or opportunities to learn and grow because of their family’s financial circumstances.
Our comprehensive programming includes mentoring, leadership and empowerment activities, creative arts, social and recreational opportunities, STEAM learning, mental health and self-exploration, substance misuse prevention, college and career readiness, academic support, and meaningful community service experiences. In partnership with Plymouth State University, student volunteers work alongside PYC staff to provide high-quality mentoring and service-learning opportunities that strengthen connections between youth and their community.
