Project Title: Character Education Program for children
Project Description:

The Wright Way Foundation (TWWF) uses character education through pay it forward principles to improve mental health, break cycles of poverty, and create a pipeline of youth who despite personal circumstances can excel in the classroom, in their communities, and on the sports field. TWWF uses its flagship initiative, Good Deed Tuesday, to teach good deeds, kindness, empathy, and compassion through pay it forward (PIF) activities. Good Deed Tuesday is represented by Mr. GDT, a modern-day African American male superhero who gains power by making good choices, helping others, and doing good deeds.
Mr. GDT and the principles of Good Deed Tuesday are tools available in comic books, social media, online blogs, in-person school assemblies, community action activities, and other retail products that empower youth, improve mental health, and break cycles of poverty. Good Day Tuesday uses vehicles such as school-based curriculum, youth sports camps, and serving as a hub for household stability resources to realize improved mental health, academic performance, and economic mobility outcomes for students, athletes and households.
Superheroes throughout history have been ‘super’ because of their physical strength. Mr. GDT is a role model for all – but especially African American boys – demonstrating that the power in doing good deeds exceeds what any physical strength can provide.
