Project Title: IVES ESTATES LIONS YOUTH HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAM
Project Description:

The 59 Dreams Foundation, in partnership with the Ives Estates Lions Youth Football and Cheer Program, seeks support for the Ives Estates Lions Youth Health & Wellness Program, serving youth ages 5–15 in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
The mission of 59 Dreams Foundation is to empower youth through wellness, mentorship, athletics, education, and community engagement. Through this partnership, the Foundation supports one of South Florida’s longest-running youth sports organizations. For more than 50 years, the Ives Estates Lions have provided youth football, cheerleading, mentorship, and positive recreational opportunities that have impacted generations of children and families.
The program provides a safe, structured environment where youth develop healthy habits, improve physical fitness, build self-confidence, and learn important life skills such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, accountability, and perseverance. Participants engage in conditioning, practices, games, mentorship activities, and community service opportunities throughout the season.
Funding from the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation will help offset the cost of participant scholarships, safety equipment, uniforms, transportation assistance, field usage fees, and other program expenses. These resources ensure that children can participate regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
The program primarily serves youth from diverse and underserved communities where access to affordable extracurricular activities may be limited. By removing financial barriers and providing positive adult role models, the program helps keep young people active, engaged, and focused on personal growth.
During the project period, approximately 140 youth participants will benefit from the program. Expected outcomes include increased physical activity, improved leadership and teamwork skills, stronger self-esteem, and greater participation in healthy, productive activities that support long-term success both on and off the field.
