ACES in Spaces | Flint, Michigan | January – November 2027
ACES in SPACES Community Program – Powered by Invisible Giants Legacy & Leadership Foundation. ACES stands for Arts, Culture, Education, and Sports, with a mission to empower Flint’s youth through enriching activities while promoting violence prevention and community engagement. The initiative is designed to provide safe spaces for education, development, creativity, and community impact for ages 10-21.
Program Goals
• Provide engaging, accessible, and high-quality programming in arts, culture, education, and sports.
• Equip youth with tools for conflict resolution and violence prevention.
• Foster positive community relationships and offer opportunities for personal growth.
• Achieve measurable outcomes in youth participation, skill development, and community education.
Scope of Work
The ACES in SPACES program will include four distinct initiatives.
1. Arts & Culture – Flint ACES in Spaces
• Description: A series of hands-on workshops in visual arts, music production, and theater. Partner with local artists to mentor youth and foster creative expression.
• Integrate storytelling and art therapy sessions focused on conflict resolution and emotional well-being.
2. Community Partnerships & Connections
• Description: Weekly events showcasing Flint’s diverse cultural heritage, including food, music, dance, and storytelling.
• Include dialogue sessions addressing cultural understanding and mutual respect as tools to reduce community tension.
3. STEM Programming
• Description: STEM-focused workshops on coding, robotics, and environmental science, encouraging problem-solving and teamwork.
• Highlight collaborative problem-solving as a way to manage conflicts constructively.
4. Sports related education initiative | College readiness & exposure tours
• Description: Sharing careers in sports outside of coaching and playing.
• Educational workshops focusing on college readiness, financial education, and career exploration.
• Track youth progress in understanding financial concepts, career planning, and increased confidence in decision-making.
The ACES in Spaces program will operate within budget, covering staffing, event materials, facility rental, and program-related costs.
