Project Title: Girls to Graduates: Building College Pathways in El Paso
Project Description:

This grant will support the expansion of college readiness programming for students served by the Young Women’s Preparatory Network, the nonprofit partner to the Young Women’s STEAM Academy and Young Women’s Leadership Academy. Together, these campuses serve 750 female students in grades 6–12, the majority of whom are low-income, first-generation college-bound, and from minority backgrounds. Our students are bilingual, resilient, and emerging leaders with tremendous potential.

Funding will allow us to deepen and expand a proven, comprehensive college readiness model that begins in 6th grade and continues through high school graduation. Programming includes academic advising, college and career exploration, application and financial aid support, leadership development, and family engagement designed to ensure parents understand the college-going process.

What we do works. Our schools maintain a 100% high school graduation rate, and every senior has been accepted to at least one four-year college. These outcomes are not by chance – they are the result of intentional, sustained support provided over seven years. Our alumni success further demonstrates the strength of this model, as graduates persist in college and return to contribute to our community.

With this investment, we will expand access to critical college readiness resources, strengthen individualized support for students, and enhance programming that equips young women with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in higher education. By investing in these students, this project is not only opening doors to college- it is helping build a pipeline of educated, empowered young women who will shape the future El Paso and beyond.
