Project Title: Together We Grow: Inclusive Summer Camp
Project Description:

The Arc of Putnam County respectfully requests $10,000 to provide scholarships for an Inclusive Summer Camp serving children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Putnam County, Florida.

For many families of children with IDD, access to safe, inclusive summer programming is limited not only by availability, but by cost. Without financial assistance, many children are unable to participate in structured summer activities, resulting in social isolation, loss of routine, and missed opportunities for skill development.

The Arc will host a one-week inclusive summer camp serving up to 40 children ages 5–12. This program provides a structured and supportive environment where participants engage in hands-on activities that promote social interaction, communication, and daily living skills. Camp experiences include creative arts, sensory activities, group play, and basic life skills instruction, all tailored to meet a wide range of abilities.

Funding from the Hermanowski Family Foundation will be used to provide scholarships that reduce or eliminate participation costs for families in need. This request represents approximately $250 per child in scholarship support, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to participation.

At least 75% of participants are expected to demonstrate increased social engagement and skill development, as measured through staff observation and caregiver feedback. Additional program costs are supported through organizational resources and participant contributions where applicable.

By removing financial barriers, this program ensures that children with IDD have the opportunity to participate, connect, and thrive in an inclusive community setting.
