Project Title: Rural Mobile Connections
Project Description:
Rural Mobile Connections expands the reach of Fostering Connections by bringing essential resources directly to children and caregivers across Northeastern Oklahoma. Many families live far from Tulsa or face barriers that make traveling to the Resource Center difficult. Rural Mobile Connections removes those obstacles by delivering the same high quality support, including baby equipment, clothing, toiletries, diapers, formula, books, toys, and other age appropriate necessities, straight to their communities.
Through scheduled distribution days hosted in partnership with local organizations, Rural Mobile Connections ensures that children entering or experiencing foster care have timely access to the items they need to feel safe, comfortable, and supported. Authorized representatives, including foster parents, kinship caregivers, and agency partners, may pick up items on behalf of the children in their care, making the process flexible and responsive to real world challenges.
This program is especially critical for rural communities, where access to resources can be limited and caregivers often shoulder long travel times. By meeting families where they are, Rural Mobile Connections reduces stress during already difficult transitions and helps children maintain a sense of stability.
Together with our brick and mortar Resource Center, Rural Mobile Connections served more than 4,400 children in 2025, a reflection of both the growing need and the program’s effectiveness in reaching families. As the program continues to expand, it strengthens our mission to ensure every child in out of home care has what they need to thrive.
Total Project Budget: $25,000
