Project Title: Send 30 New Campers to Camp Boggy Creek’s 30th Birthday Summer
Project Description:
Across Florida, thousands of children live with serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, sickle cell anemia, immune disorders, and epilepsy. Frequent hospital stays, exhausting treatment schedules, and medical uncertainty often disrupt childhood—causing children to miss school and milestones, leaving parents feeling isolated, and siblings feeling overlooked. Nearly 15% of children in Florida live with a chronic condition, and many experience anxiety or depression as they adjust to life‑altering diagnoses.
As Camp Boggy Creek enters its 30th summer, we are committed to reaching families who may be newly diagnosed and unaware that a medical camp like ours exists. To mark this milestone, Camp Boggy Creek is seeking 10 new funding partners to help send 30 new campers to Camp—one camper for each year of our history. These campers represent children who might otherwise never experience the joy, connection, and sense of belonging that Camp provides.
Through our free Summer Camp Sessions, children ages 7–17 enjoy horseback riding, swimming, fishing, creative activities, and lasting friendships in a medically safe and emotionally supportive environment. With 24/7 on‑site medical care tailored to each child’s needs, families can trust that their children are safe while gaining confidence, independence, and joy.
By supporting this 30th anniversary initiative, The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation will help ensure that more children and families experience not just a week of Camp, but a lasting impact—renewed hope, meaningful connection, and the chance to simply be kids again during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
